newThe YFZ450R is a pure sport quad, ready to race straight out of the crate. The 449 cc five-valve four-stroke with an 11.8:1 compression ratio delivers 40 hp and responds instantly and crisply to the throttle thanks to fuel injection. You shift through a five-speed gearbox with an assist and slipper clutch, the first in its class.
The slipper clutch partially disengages when you downshift quickly before a corner, keeping the rear settled so you control corner speed with the brakes. The KYB piggyback shocks are three-way adjustable, with 250 mm of travel at the front and 280 mm at the rear. The hybrid aluminium and steel frame is light and stiff.
Ready to ride, the YFZ450R weighs just 184 kg. Roomy fenders and rearward-placed heel guards give you the freedom to shift your weight in fast corners and under full acceleration. It comes in blue, is supplied without registration and is intended for track and terrain.
