So you adapt the suspension to the terrain on the move. Suspension travel is 361 mm at the front and 429 mm at the rear, with 350 mm of ground clearance and 30-inch Maxxis Carnivore tyres.
The 999 cc parallel-twin engine delivers 108 hp and revs to 8,500 rpm. D-Mode lets you choose Sport, Trail or Crawl, and Yamaha gives a 10-year warranty on the drive belt of the Ultramatic transmission. Besides 2WD, 4WD and diff lock, On-Command has a Turf mode that unlocks the rear differential, for a tighter turning circle and less damage to grass. The electric power steering is adjustable too.
The multi-piece front bumper carries a factory-fitted 4,500 lb (approx. 2,041 kg) WARN VRX 45 winch and two steel tie-down points. The tilting cargo bed carries 272 kg and with the 2-inch towbar you can tow up to 907 kg. Inside, floor and console lighting and blue illuminated switches create atmosphere. Available in blue-grey, unregistered or with an agricultural registration (T).
