Electric start makes it easy to fire up between jobs. The mower weighs around 320 kg and, like every AF model, is a second-generation British design.
Inside the 5 mm shot-blasted and powder-coated deck spins a rotor with a 114 mm shaft and 42 spirally arranged Y-flails. If you regularly tackle rougher growth, choose the optional heavy-duty flails, which are available for the AFX only. The LockTorque lever clutch transfers the power through three belts.
The drawbar can be offset to either side so you mow outside your quad's wheel tracks; a super-offset option is also available. On side wheels the mower is 2.45 m wide, on rear wheels 1.95 m, and SwingLock lets you switch without tools. After online registration a 2-year warranty applies.
