This Estate flail mower from the second-generation AF series is designed for long grass and undergrowth on private grounds and estates, and for lighter professional work. It weighs around 300 kg.
The rotor turns on a 114 mm shaft and carries 42 spirally arranged Y-flails. It is driven by a 13 hp Briggs & Stratton V-Twin that you start with a pull cord, through the LockTorque lever clutch with three belts. A kill switch clamps onto your ATV's rack, so you can always stop the mower within easy reach.
On side wheels the AFE-160 is 2.45 m wide, on rear wheels 1.95 m; the SwingLock axle system lets you switch without tools. A turnbuckle on the drawbar sets the mower level, and the cutting height ranges from 20 to 205 mm. Options include tandem wheels, a jockey wheel and a super-offset version.
